Hi,

I find that if in one environment I create a new field in a table and i export/import to another environment through solution this field is added automatically.
But if I remove a field it is not autimatically removed in the other env.
If I manually delete the field in the other -production- environment a working app suddenly starts having all kind of troubles altough the field is not being used in the first environment.
I have the same question (0)

That sounds like expected behaviour. You should avoid deleting fields until you can confirm the impact on the application. Are you sure that no processes are using the field and that there aren't any table dependencies?

If you are using a managed solution and you are importing an update to that same managed solution in your target environment and you have removed a field that is only in that managed solution then the field will be removed from the target.

Unmanaged solutions or managed solutions that share items with other solutions the field will not be removed as it exists in the other solution or the unmanaged layer.

Generally speaking try to avoid deleting from a production environment, often it is better to just rename the item. If you do delete, you need to check all the dependances - but even this isn't foolproof as someone could have written plugin code that uses the item inside it and that plugin may not be listed as a dependency (except if the field is one of the triggers).
