Grouping Power App Visual Elements - Allow for nested group elements

Hi everyone,

I wanted to raise a feature request and see if others in the Power Apps community feel the same way.

Currently, when building Canvas Apps, we have the ability to group elements, which is great for organizing components on the left-hand panel. However, one major limitation is that groups cannot be nested within each other. This means that if you're working on complex UIs with multiple sections, managing elements efficiently becomes difficult.

Why Nested Grouping Matters

In design tools like Figma, you can create groups within groups, allowing for a much more structured and intuitive way of managing UI components. Bringing this functionality to Power Apps would:

✅ Improve organization – Allow developers to create structured hierarchies of components.
✅ Enhance navigation – Make it easier to locate and modify elements without scrolling through long, flat lists.
✅ Simplify maintenance – Enable better structuring of reusable sections, reducing time spent reorganizing elements.

Proposed Solution

  • Allow grouping elements within existing groups (i.e., nested groups).
  • Provide a collapsible hierarchy in the left-hand tree view for better visibility and navigation.
  • Enable drag-and-drop support for easier restructuring of elements within nested groups.

Open Question to the Community

Would this feature help you in your app development process? Are there any additional improvements you’d suggest for element organization in Canvas Apps?

I’d love to hear your thoughts! If you agree, let’s get some traction on this request and hopefully bring it to Microsoft’s attention.

    Hi there,

your idea sounds pretty good, probably this is not the right forum for this kind of discussion but I just checked the Power Apps Ideas forum and there is nothing related to nesting groups of object which as you mention could be very useful.

Please feel free to upload your amazing idea bellow:

In that way  we can show you our support, and who know maybe be Microsoft could lisen!.

    Regards.
