Sharepoint list permissions and powerapps

Greetings

 

 I may be going a little mad but I thought there was now an option when sharing an app to check a box that said something liek "Use SharePoint list permissions."

Essentially, when i create an app, i want to use the permissions from a SharePoint list so that the end users can control access to the app. Is this not possible and did I dream it up?

    To give people access to an app you need to share the app with them AND give them permission to the backend data source.  So if you are using SharePoint as the data source and share an app with someone they won't be able to use it unless they have permission to SharePoint.  Similarly people can't open an app that hasn't been shared with them if all they have is permission to SharePoint.  It requires both.
