Editing DataFlows from within a Solution

Hello,

I created new table inside a solution and then loaded its data using a dataflow. The dataflow was created and I can access it under the Dataverse tab on the left panel. I can edit the dataflow if needed.

My question is, if I add the dataflow to my Solution, it can't be edited from within the Solution! Is there is a reason for that? or it is just how it works?

Thank you

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @AhmedSalih ,

This is a known limitation that you can not actually edit the dataflow from within the solution (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/dataflows/dataflow-solution-awareness#known-limitations).  You can still edit it but you have to do from the Dataflows section under the Data area in Maker (like where you probably created it)

The way dataflow is implemented seems half baked and almost an after thought.

It seems like its just bolted on (which it probably is).

The way they are/are not visible depending on owner, the non editing in a solution is just plain stupid.

No clear/simple save and run later function is just irritating.

Lots of spinning wheels without clarity around what is going on.

That said, what it achieves when it runs is awesome!
