ALM - SharePoint Data Source not updated in new environment

Hi,

I'm new to using the ALM features in PowerPlatform and I've been charged with updating some of our existing Canvas Apps to align with Best Practice methods.

With that goal in mind, I have created a new solution in our Dev Environment and added an existing Canvas App to the solution.
The App exclusively uses SharePoint Lists as its Data Sources.

We have some SharePoint sites set up to act as Dev and Test environments.

  1. I followed the directions in this video (Solutions in Power Platform) to set up Environment Variables that could be used to direct to the different Sites & Lists for each Environment.

  2. I replaced all of the Data Sources in the app with ones that use the Environment Variables, made any necessary changes to make the app work with the new Data Sources, and then saved it.

  3. I went back to my Environment Variables and removed the "current value" from each of them..

  4. I then exported the solution, making sure to publish all customizations and run the app checker. The solution exported without any issues.

  5. I swapped over to the Test environment and imported the solution. I was prompted to update the values for my various Environment Variables.

Following all of this, when I open the app in the Test environment, it is not using the lists in the SharePoint Test site that I would expect. At first I thought maybe it was an issue with my Environment Variables, but when I open the App in Test, the Data Sources have not been updated at all.
It is still using the original Data Sources, which I removed and replaced with ones that use the Environment Variables, so my Environment Variables appear to be updating, but my App isn't trying to use them at all.

If anyone knows why this is happening or what the solution is, please let me know.

    Hi @PoeRaven

Did you export the solution from your dev environment in a managed state? If so, when you imported it into your test environment, did you choose the option overwrite unmanaged customisations?
