Formular/PowerFx-Column doesn't compare Input of a YES/NO-Column

Hi everybody,

iam quite new to Dataverse/Powerapps and iam trying to make a Formular/PowerFx-Column work. I have a table which has 2 fields "is_necessary", which is a YES/NO-Field, and a field "Default" which is a decimal-Field and contains a Default-Value.

The logic of the PowerFx-Column is quite straightforward, if "is_necessary" = Yes, then set the Default-Value and otherwise just 0. I tried this (and a lot of other options), but its not working:

If('is_necessary'.Yes,'Default',0)

Iam not 100% sure how to interpret the doc, but i thought that boolean (yes/no) is supported by a dataverse-formular-column. I mean if not then its quite obvious why its not working 🙂

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @DARUE ,

Given the Power FX option remains in preview, it is quite unwieldy and requires some “hacks” to get this to behave.

    1. As you're aware, if you enter an IF statement followed by a parenthesis, intellisense will display the selectable columns you can use. Select your Yes No choice column.

    2. With your Yes/No column displayed in the formula, remove the table reference from the formula.

    3. Add an equals operator and then enter your choice field again together with the choice value. Although we have set the returned output to 1 for TRUE and 0 for false, we can see in the example below that this part is now working

    4. Next, you need to return your decimal column where the condition results in true. You will notice after entering a comma to move to the argument in the function, your decimal column is not displayed in the intellisense dropdown menu.

    5. Remove the comma and enter it again, but start typing in the display name if your decimal column

    6. Final formula:
