Add Power BI Report to Model Driven Form

Hi Community:
I want to add Power BI reports to a tab within a main model driven form. I have created a test Power BI Report and published to a Workspace. I can load this test report into a page (Dashboard - Power BI Embedded), but I do not want that for my app. I want the report to show on my main form and also contextualize so it only shows related records for my Project. The main form is for a Project - then I have related table data I want to show in a Power BI report. There are many articles and videos that show how to do this - however, Microsoft deprecated this approach so examples I can find for how to do this no longer work.

Here's where I get stuck:

1. Create Power BI report and publish to workspace
2. Open my main form and add a tab
3. In left pane, go to components
4. Under Power BI - Select Power BI Report
5. The Power BI Report Pane shows which looks like exactly what I need to use
6. However, when I go to select my Power BI Report (Add Power BI Report - Report) - Nothing shows in the drop down and I get the message "There are no available Power BI Reports"
7. What do I have to do to get the Power BI reports in my workspace to show and to use?

Has anyone else run into this issue? The new Microsoft documentation does not specifically show how to get this working. If you have figured this out, could you let me know how you resolved? Or are there videos or articles that show how to get this working using the new may Microsoft requires (and not the previous way that has been deprecated?

Thank you

More Information: Old way of doing this which was straight forward is no longer available (see below). I found a Microsoft document that says you need to export the solution, extract, edit the customizations.xml file, then zip the solution and re-import. This seems so complicated (and error prone) compared to the old way. Is this really the only way to solve this? Seems crazy, especially since there is a component that looks like a simple way to add a power BI report to a MD form - I just cannot figure out how to have this control see my power BI reports in the drop down.
