Environment capacity notification

I know that tenant admins are informed about the capacity of the tenant on a weekly basis.

Is it possible to automatically inform Environment Admins of the capacity used by an Environment they created, if the storage limit is being approached.?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @leo85,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, do you want to inform your Environment Admins once the storage limit is approached?

Could you please share a bit more about the scenario?

Actually, the emails notifications are not configurable at this moment. This is set to receive when the threshold limit is reached.

Additionally, tenant admins will also be notified once their org reaches 15% of available capacity, and once more when their org reaches 5% of available capacity.

So if you want to automatically inform Environment Admins of the capacity used by an Environment they created once the storage limit is approached, I am afraid that there is no way to achieve this in PowerApps.

If you want this feature to be added, please raise an new idea in our idea forum:

    Hope it could help you.

    Regards,

    Hi @v-qiaqi-msft,

thanks for your reply. As for the scenario: For monitoring purposes we want anybody who creates an Environment  to be informed about current capacity usage of their environments. Best case would be to be notified before the capacity limit is reached, so that action can be taken. Second best would be to be notified once the limit is reached.

    As I understand you:

    1. It's currently not possible to get notifications before the capacity limit is reached.

    2. Environment Admins are notified by email after the limit is reached.

    Is this correct?

Is number 2 (email after limit is reached) also valid for normal users who create an environment (e.g. because they have a Power Apps Plan licence)?

    Best Regards

    Hi @leo85,

    1. Yes, It's currently not possible to get notifications before the capacity limit is reached.
    2. Tenant Admins are notified by email after the limit is reached.

Each user that has a Power Apps Plan licence could create the environment and could be the Environment Admin, however, only the tenant admin could be informed with a warning email.

A tenant admin is an admin for all the environments in tenant. Hence, tenant admin will see all the environments in the AD tenant.

I could not reproduce the scenario that you described, so I doubt that if this tenant admins mean all the admins for the environments or just the admin of all the environments. So in case of that, you could try to assign the tenant admin role to the users in your org to try if this makes sense.

Assign a service admin role to a user

Follow these steps to assign a service admin role.

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center as a global admin.

    2. Go to Users > Active users and select a user.

    3. Under Account > Roles select Manage roles.

    4. Select to expand Show all by category.

    5. Under Collaboration select either Dynamics 365 administrator or Power Platform administrator.

    6. Select Save changes.

    Hope it could help.

    Regards,

    Qi
