Display Different Information Based on User

Hi All,

I'm looking for guidance on how to control what a specific user sees/has access to. I haven't found much helpful documentation, but if anyone knows of any helpful keywords to look up or has any valueable documentation, please comment it!

My goal is to set my app up such that standard users only see the records they add to the database and manager users can see the records their employees create.

I don't know where to start here. My first thought is to make a log in screen and have users make their own accounts, but I would prefer a method that would be able to automatically recognize who the user is by checking OneDrive/Google/Teams/any other means that the user would already be logged into. Please let me know if you have any advice!

Thanks!

    Hi @Wahv,

May be you can do this with 'Office365Users' connector. I have tried this in my project, just to show a gallery to the managers only and it worked fine.

Try to use DirectReportsV2, ManagerV2, and ProfileV2 properties of the Office365Users connector.

Create a collection with DirectReportsV2 property and use CountRows() function with the collection to know how many reporties are there for a logged in user. And use this in visible property of the any control to hide/visible.

    Alternatively:
If you have very limited employees are using your application, then just create a SharePoint list with

    employeeName    employeeEmail        EmployeeRole.
    Name                    name@zyx.com       StanderdUser
    Name2                  name2@zbx.com     Manager

Then validate the current logged user with the list users and write the logic to hide/visible controls in App.

    Hope this helps.
