Powerapps Lookup - incompatible types for comparison

Good day

I have a static Excel datatable in my app and needs to look up the SBU/Department and Division fields.

This is an example of my datatable.  The SBU/Department field refers to the LTEXT field.  The text field of my SBU/Department has the following formula:  LookUp(HCMaster_1,EMAIL=Gallery2.Selected.Mail,LTEXT).  I do not get a error message, but the field does not look up and return the info from the datatable.  (Gallery 2 refers to the email lookup of the Nominee from Active Directory)

Can you please help me why I cannot get results - it seems it is a "incompatible types for comparison" error

Thank you

    Hi @janineb,

    When using the equals operator both emails will have to match exactly. Pay close attention to capitalization or wrongly spelled emails within the static Excel list. Using the in operator instead of equals will make the query case insensitive:

    LookUp(
     HCMaster_1,
     Gallery2.Selected.Mail in EMAIL,
     LTEXT
    )

    If this solves your question, would you be so kind as to accept it as a solution & give it a thumbs up.

    Thanks!
