Embedded canvas app in model driven - how to save

Hello guys,

When we embed canvas app, do we need to add Save button and doing manual code Submit/Patch inside that button ? or actually we can still use the "Save" button or the "Save & Close" button at the top bar of the table's form ?

I mean this button ->

While the canvas app is opened in the middle of the screen (not displayed in my image)

You still need the save and save and close buttons on your model driven App , to save the record data still not sure what you are actually displaying or saving in the Canvas App..

Thanks for replying, My canvas app is displaying the same record as from the model driven. What I'm trying to say is whether we can just display those record and make some edit, then let the original Save and Save & Close button do the saving. Or do we need to add Save button (with SubmitForm or Patch at OnSelect property) inside that Canvas app.

Since I tried to not adding Save button inside, edit some fields inside my canvas app, then just click those Save button on top (or the "Save & Close" button), the fields that I'm editing is not saved.

You need to save the record from inside a canvas app, the model driven app save and save and close will not save data changed in the embedded canvas app.

Unfortunately, it appears that at least in some cases, the saveandclose button doesn't work at all if you embed a canvas app (Not just with the data not saving from the canvas app). Have an you of you experienced this?

Hi Axal,
go to the component column in power apps in the form field section choose form canvas then save and publish , then You have to switch to classic
- then select For Canvas go to the change properties select control click on add control in canvas apps mark , web, phone tablet
- then power apps apps copy the details about apps like name , ID
- then go to the switch to classic past name ID of apps click on OK , save and publish

Hi Axal, we are experiencing the same issue where saveandclose in the mda is not working as expected when there is a canvas app embedded on the form. Did you ever find a solution or figure out what the problem was?
