Import form attachment via power automate to a Planner

I created a form for my marketing team which allows end users to request different items from the department.  Upon completing the form and selecting the item they want (print ad, Flyer, Door Prize, Expo) some tasks may include an attachment which is listed as an option on the form.  A planner task is created in the corresponding bucket.  All that works fine.  I need to add the capability for the attachment to show up in the task as well under the Attachments option.

    Hello @JC-06091450-0

If the uploaded file is stored in OneDrive, you can add that file to the Planner task.

You can use Get file content using path from the OneDrive connector to retrieve the uploaded file. After that, use Create share link to generate a shareable URL for the file.

Once the link is created, store the attachment name and the shareable link in an array variable. You can then use these values in an Apply to each action to add the attachment to the Planner task.

This method allows the uploaded OneDrive file to appear correctly under Attachments in the Planner task.

Use Planner, Update task details and select the task where the attachment should be added. In the References / Attachments field, provide the array variable you created.

I appreciate the response.  Here is a layout (in New Deisgner) that may explain more.

maybe this will help.  I have a form that once submitted, will create tasks in a planner.  Each task will be created in a specific bucket and assigned to a user(s).  The users are complaining they cannot see the attachments in the Planner task.  So I started working on this to create the sharing link within planner.

    Hello @JC-06091450-0

Thanks for sharing the additional details.

I hope the Create sharing link option resolves the issue and allows users to view the attachments directly from the Planner task. Please let me know if you still run into any problems.

What is your availability like for a 30 minute session?  I believe if we can collab via Teams, you can see what my issue is.

Thanks for your message and the offer to connect. I’m not able to join live sessions or collaborate via Teams, but I’m happy to assist here on the forum.

If you’re experiencing issues, please share screenshots of your form, the flow steps, or any error messages, particularly how the attachment or task creation is set up. This will allow me to provide specific guidance and troubleshooting steps.

I’ll review the information and help you work through the issue step by step. This approach also ensures that the solution can help others who may encounter the same problem.
