Fetch data entity form

Hello community,

how can I fetch data from entity in a form.

There is one field where is entered a number from parent entity.

Major entity: project

Child entity: order

When a new order is added and project number is entered, should be checked:

- project number exists?

- how many orders already in project? (to create next number for new order)

My idea is, to use a entity form, mode insert and add in its avdanced options some JavaScript code which does the checks in background.

Any help oder other ideas?

PS I know the posibility to add related records ... 😉

Thanks,

AndKan

hi, maybe I am misunderstanding but:

When a new order is added and project number is entered, should be checked:
- project number exists?
- how many orders already in project? (to create next number for new order)

if you set the Project Number as required, you don't need to verify if it exists
next-number --> I think you should consider auto-number solutions here, you can use the OOB auto-number field (although this would always be a sequential, and not dependent on the Project record).. or you can use custom solutions (plenty of articles online) that would contain a "counter" record and then associating with the records: https://d365goddess.com/custom-auto-numbering/
