Hi Expert,

This could be fairly simple but I am not able to get it 😑

How to read the like column from sharepoint list. This like column does not show up in Powerapps

I need to display the number of likes using a label

    Is there a reason you have the column "Number of Likes" set as a type of "Number of Likes"? That sounds like something that should be a number, not a complex data type.

    Anyways, if it is a number column, it is accessible in a gallery through: ThisItem.'Number of Likes'

    If it is a complex data type column, it is accessible in a gallery through: ThisItem.'Number of Likes'.value

    Does that help?

    Hi @AshishJaiswal ,

    Do you want to show how many users had clicked the like button? If yes, you can use CountRows() function.

    By default, ThisItem.'Liked By' will show a table with users who likes this item, so you can directly count this table. So try this formula:

    CountRows(ThisItem.'Liked By')

    @v-albai-msft @BCLS776

    Thank you for replying to my post.

    In the 'Text' property of the label when I am using -

    CountRows(ThisItem.'Liked By')

    Neither 'Liked by ' nor 'Number of like' is appearing

    Which is nothing but the initial issue. I am not able to read that column from sharepoint in PowerApps

    When I do Thisitem.'every other column is showing up here but not Likedby or Number of Likes'

    It doesn't show up in the list when you enter ThisItem. and try to select from the dropdown list which powerapps gives.

    Hi @AshishJaiswal ,

    Two things I can think of about this situation:

    1. Have you selected "Likes" or "Star Ratings" in the list settings? During my test, I selected "Likes" for this setting:

    2. Tried to disable the "Rating Settings" for your list, then refresh this list in your app. Then re-enable this settings and refresh this list in your app, and check the result.

    Best regards,

    Allen

    @v-albai-msft

    Correct now I do see Thisitem.LikedBy (but it show the count of likes of the entire sharepoint list 2000)

    This label is inside a gallery and it should show only likes count of that very item.

    Could you please guide me

    Hi @AshishJaiswal ,

    Not sure your detailed configurations but for test purpose, I would suggest you add a new gallery in another screen, then check if the likes number works fine.

    Best regards,

    Allen

    Hi @AshishJaiswal ,

    Still need to do more things for troubleshooting your issue since this works fine on my side(check result after each step):

    1. Try to test using another browser or using the private mode.

    2. Create a new app then have a test.

    Best regards,

    Allen
