I try to filter by dates in powerapps model driven but I get the following error.

That's a weird error to have! I wonder if it has something to do with the virtual data provider / external database stability. If it still doesn't work after emptying cache I would lodge a Microsoft support ticket at: https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/support
