Dataverse for teams - Guest users - You need a current plan or trial to use Power Apps

Hi,

Made a Teams App via Dataverse for teams. Addes guest user to team.

Guest user tries to open the APP and gets screen messages - 'You need a current plan or trial to use Power Apps.'

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/about-teams-environment

MS states this for Guest users:

"Guests are people from outside the tenant that a team owner invites, such as a partner or a customer. They can view and run all resources in the team. By default, guests have full access to records they create and don't have access to other users' records."

Before in Project Oakdale this was not the case.

Anyone else got this message.

Any guidelines anyone

Kr Wouter

Hi @Wouter_K, from my understanding even guest users would require a Power Apps license. More info: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app#prerequisites-1

    Hope this helps...

@EricRegnier  Thanks so much for you reply. Sorry I missed the notification, otherwise I would have replied sooner.

Your link refers to the standard Canvas App. My context is the 'new' dataverse for teams app. When my tenant users, without a powerapps license, open the teams App, everything is oke.  A guest user can also enter the team, but as soon as he tries to open the team app, a dialog appears ==> stating that a trail license should be assigned.

    Hi @Wouter_K ,

You can share the application with guests but you must license them as @EricRegnier identified.

Microsoft's documentation on sharing with guest users and they will have access to utilize (in Microsoft Dataverse for Teams):

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/about-teams-environment#:~:text=Teams%20can%20invite%20guests%20who,run%20apps%20in%20their%20team.

But still falls into the Canvas App licensing FAQ here:

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks much,

Even for Dataverse for Teams, guest users would require a license unfortunately.
