Setting Default DisplayMode for button

Hi Everyone,

I am working on a form that uses buttons to navigate from one screen to another. The buttons have different options "Clock In", "Clock Out", etc. I am able to change the display mode based on the lastAction that I query from a SharePoint list. The function I use is the following: If(lastAction = "Clock Out" || IsBlank(lastAction), DisplayMode.Edit, DisplayMode.Disabled). This works fine, but when I was testing the app, I noticed that for a second the button displays on edit mode. When the app completes the if statement, it changes it to disabled like it should. The issue with this, is that users can quickly tap the button "Clock In" before it gets disable. My question is if there is a way to set the default display mode for the button to disabled, and then let the display mode change based on the condition?

You are putting the If in the Default of the property, so since the app needs to process the If there will often be a delay. There are 2 things you can do. Either create a splash screen that loads as the first page of the app and then allows the user to go to the page needed, or use a function in the Visible property of the button. You could use a Timer control to either Navigate from your slash screen to the "button" screen after a short wait - maybe 1 second - or you could set the control's Visible property to hide the control for a short period until the If can be evaluated.
