Hi, I created a field from datatyp choices.

Now I want to look up how many choices where selected.

How can I do this?

What I do .. but doesn`t work:

I want to make a calculated field from datatyp decimal number, but if I want to calculate, I cant find the choices field.

Thank you so much for your help

    Hi @007Test007 ,

Assuming you used a ComboBox for this, you can get the number of selected items using the below formula:

    CountRows(YourComboBox.SelectedItems)

In this you'll have to change YourComboBox with the actual name of your combobox control.

    Hi BCBuizer,

do I have to do this with a flow or can I use a calculated field?

    Hi @007Test007 ,

No need to use a flow, this code will return the count of the selected choices in a combobox. You can, for instance, use it to set the Text property of a label to display it, or include it in a Patch function to save it to a data source.

If you can advise what you want to do with the value, we can have a look at how to incorporate this code.

Hi BCBuizer, I want to put the result in a separated field, because I want to use the result in a calculated field.

    Hi @007Test007

What control are you looking to use for that?

Perhaps a Label to show the value by using the code in the Text property:

    Hello @BCBuizer,
I try to describe my problem more detailed.

I`m in a table with a column called "number". The column "number" is from data type "Decimal Number". I select calculated.

I have another column called "fruites" from data type "choices".

Now I want to put the number of selected choices from the column "fruits" in the column "number".

But if I want to make a calculation in the column "number", I cant find the column "fruits".

I hope It helps a little bit more about where is my problem.

    Hi @007Test007 ,

Are you talking about SharePoint or PowerApps? Since this is the PowerApps community I assumed you were asking about PowerApps.

    Hi @007Test007,

    Seems more like Dataverse: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/data-platform/define-calculated-fields

From what I can see, in the documentation, there is no support for any kind of Count function as a calculated column. However, you can still perform this function at your input (Canvas App/SharePoint) to update the column with an automatically calculated value.
