PowerApp Video Player not working in Teams Desktop

The app was originally working in Teams but stopped. It works in PowerApps and if I open the PowerApp tab in a browser.

There are 2 pages; Gallery with a search bar and Video play screen using the standard Video Player.
When you select a video, the video is just all blue and doesn't do anything in Teams Desktop. It shows the play icon in the center but doesn't do anything.
It works everywhere else.

My Teams Version says it is up to date.

You have Microsoft Teams version 25122.1415.3698.6812.
You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 6/17/2025

It sounds like the issue you're experiencing with the app in Teams Desktop is likely related to caching or a rendering bug specific to the Teams environment.

Since the app works fine in PowerApps, browser view, and even the Teams web client, but fails in Teams Desktop, here’s what I recommend:

Remove and Re-add the App in Teams
Sometimes Teams caches app components aggressively, and this can cause UI elements like video players to break or not render correctly.
    Steps to try:
    • Remove the app from Teams:
    • Go to the Teams tab where the app is added.
    • Click the dropdown next to the tab name and choose Remove.
Clear Teams cache (optional but helpful):
    • Close Teams.
    • Navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams on your PC.
    • Delete the contents of the Cache, blob_storage, and databases folders.
    • Restart Teams.
    • Re-add the app to Teams:
    • Go to the relevant Team or Chat.
    • Click the "+" (Add a tab) button.
    • Select Power Apps and re-add your app.

    If this helps, please like. If this solves the problem, mark as a solution.cing: 0px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;"> cing: 0px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;"> ; text-decoration-color:initial; text-decoration-style:initial; text-decoration-thickness:initial; text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; word-spacing:0px">Follow me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/charlie-phipps-bennett-%F0%9F%91%A8%E2%80%8D%F0%9F%92%BB-91338715b/
