Hello.

I am having an issue with visualizing my data in Power BI after creating a relationship between dimDate and Loan. Everything shows up just fine but soon as I create the relationship, the dates just disappears and only the count shows. Please help.

Can you please share how you created the Table.

ATM the issue is you are doing aggregations or should across the years now that you have the relationship but its not seeing it that way, so either the column (year) is not properly ... how do I say... configured any more for how the visual was created before.

Can you remove it and re add it, also, can you please show a picture of the list of fields you added to the table.
As you can see its just Summing it all up acrossed the years, versus aggregating BY year (Grouping by)

    Hello,
I think that your column 'date loan start' that belong to loans table is following up format like 'dd/mm/yyy hr:mn:sc' with 'hr:mn:sc' values different than '00:00:00' nevetheless the Date column that belong to dimeDate table follow similar format  'dd/mm/yyy hr:mn:sc' but with the only difference that 'hr:mn:sc' values have '00:00:00' as value.
make sure to format in power query column of  'date loan start' to date only as well as Date column that belong to DimDate

Mine is doing the same thing, been going around with this re adding the data from dataverse in here. I changed the dates and when you see this message when connecting the 2 relationships.

-----This is how it looks when there is a relationship there. But if you remove the relationship

There has to be some formatting issue but i have gone in and changed the dates, etc.

Correction, I went in and found out what happened. Go into the Query where you created the data and make sure the date is selected without time. I created a new column and added a new column.  Just make sure the Loans table in the query has Date selected

I still have not been able to fix this. The answer I got is really confusing. How do I go to the Power Query Editor to change the format to Date Only. Everything is so confusing. I have undone and redo the process over and over but still no change. Can I please get step by step assistance on how to remedy this, please?

This is a known issue, due to the different date type between dateLoanStart column (Date/Time) in Loan table and Date column (Date) in dimDate table.
Simply, you need to change data type of the dateLoanStart column to Date only in Power Query.  No additional column is needed.
