Enable SharePoint integration on Power Portals

When we enable SharePoint integration on Power Portals we get following dialog:

Does this mean users now can access all site collections and do all the view permissions? Or is authentication still done by the user used on the connector? The dialog looks kind of scary seen from an security perspective?
