Hello!

I have this canvass app that I use emojis as a status. It is a Happy or Sad status.
When I select the emoji, It changes color from blue to green (happy) or red (sad).
I also have this label to print the response from the emoji.
The Patch works to save the data into Sharepoint Lists.

My problem is with the editing function. Is it possible to retain the emoji response (color and text label) but it is also editable?

    Hi @Perseus ,

Could you please share more details about your scenario? What do you want to edit, change to another emoji?

    Hi,
I want to retain the view from where it was captured on the Sharepoint List using Lookup(). I already did this. But at the same time, I want it to be changeable to another emoji.

    Hi @Perseus ,

I think that what you want to achieve is putting two emojis on the screen, one is green smile the other is red angry, and make them able to switch to each other when being tapped, am I right? Could you please post some screenshots so that I can understand your scenario more clearly? Do you have a Gallery to display items from SharePoint list and each item includes an emoji to indicate the Status?

    Best regards

I wrote a PCF that allowed users to provide scoped feedback using emoji clicks a while back, but mine was intended for Dataverse storage persistence. All the same, maybe it helps to say that I found it convenient to only persist the unicode as text for user selections, as Dataverse correctly interprets that as an emoji when rendering normal text fields (I would hope SharePoint does the same). If you save it this way (as text), then editability is clear.

    Hi, @v-jefferni ,
I did achieve the switching of emoji using a variable as when I click the icon happy the color changes to green and the same for the sad icon. I don't have a Gallery but I can try this. I have a separate screen for creating and editing the form. On the editing screen, I'm using Lookup() to Sharepoint List on the Status or label.

Here is the screenshot of my scenario of using emoji icon..

    Hi @Perseus ,

    Isn't this a Gallery?

What is it in Items property? Is this Gallery on edit screen? I haven't seen a form control, what's its data source?

    Best regards,
