Training Records - Activity Table?

Hi PowerUsers,

I'm creating an app that my Crew can use to complete training records for their students. The table would include their name, course of training, sequence, date and start time - end time, comments, Grades and based on the grade, if the student needs to repeat the lesson, undertake a consolidation lesson, continue to next lesson.

The table will have look ups to other tables for the resources, instructors, lessons and choices in terms of units of competency.

Is this what an activity table is used for?

Hi @TMacG ,

Based on the definition you have above I would still utilize a standard table vs an activity table for this. You could track this as a session table or something like that where you have all of these relationships.

I would use the Activity table for maybe specific tasks, meetings, follow-ups etc. that may happen during the training vs tracking the individual's training with the activity table. Security is also a consideration when creating custom Activity tables as you can only set a security role’s permissions to be for all Activities, not at an individual Activity table level.
