Hello guys,

If we have a table that the fields are with type File and Image, where (and how) exactly they stored it ?

If I add new record for that table after upload image to Image field and file to File field, and go to Data section, I didn't see the Image field and can only see the column for File with some code like this ->

Of course when I edit the record which will open the form, I can see all the uploaded attachments like this :

And the reason I asked is I'm wondering whether I can synchronized this kind of table to my Dynamics 365 F&O table. But first I'd like to understand this type of field, for the synchronize maybe can be in different topic and forum.

Thanks

Generally if you enable attachments for an entity / table, all the attachments will go and sit in attachments https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/web-api/attachment?view=dynamics-ce-odata-9 . Please mark this as solution , if it resolves the question that you are looking for

    Hi,

Yes, I'm aware of that, but cannot synchronize it to F&O by using that way. Unless I don't know how. 😀

    Thanks

Image and File contents are stored in the Azure blob. Dataverse retains information needed to retrieve the contents upon request for retrieval. Here are some documents that provide an overview of each type:

Image columns (Microsoft Dataverse) - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

File columns (Microsoft Dataverse) - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs'

Dual write with F&O is not possible for images and files as F&O stores them as 64bit encoded strings within the DB and Dataverse stores them in the blob with referencing information.
