Trigger power automate flow with BPF Next Stage button

I have a model driven app with business process flow (BPF) activated. For each stage of BPF, there is a Next Stage button at the bottom. I want to use the Next Stage button as a trigger to run a power automate flow in which after the Next Stage button of that particular stage is clicked, an email will be sent out. Can this be done by using JS? If yes, can anyone please share with me the JS code? Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @rampprakash

Thanks for the reply. However that is not what I'm looking for. I do not want to use Flow Step to trigger.

Instead I want to use the Next Stage button as a trigger. For example in the image below, after the user fills up the Estimated Days Needed in this Request In Progress stage and click on Next Stage, a power automate flow is initiated to send out an email.

    Hello @Anonymous

    Thanks for the Update.

If you don't want to use the Flow then you can go with OOB Process to send an email. This Link will help you step by step process.

    Hi @rampprakash ,

Aside from that method, can I probably use something like an OnStageChange Event to trigger a power automate flow? This is because I already have a HTML email template set in the power automate Send an Email connector.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi @Anonymous,

For every BPF, underlying table (Table name same as BPF name) will be created automatically to have visibility of the active stage for each record in an entity.

When you click on next stage button, process status or active stage for the record changes.

Create your flow for BPF entity and check when process status or active stage changes trigger the flow and do necessary actions.

If it answers your question. Kindly give kudo and accept it as solution.

    Regards,

    Prakash
