How to grant access to a list item based on a multiple person column in another list

Hi everyone,

This is my scenario... I have 2 lists:

List A - a list of staff who are leaving the organisation which has a column for 'Business' (there are multiple businesses in the organisation)

List B - a list of payroll staff for each business (one business but could be multiple payroll staff) - 2 columns 'Business' (title field) and 'Payroll' (multiple person field). Same businesses as in List A.

Whenever a new item is created in list A I would like the permissions to be changed so that the payroll reps for the leavers business are the only people that can see the item.

I know I can do this using conditions and adding the payroll staff directly in the workflow but I would prefer that the business be able to update the list without going into the flow.

Thanks

    Thanks @developerAJ for pointing me in the right direction with the Join function.

    For anyone else who needs a bit more info there's a step by step workflow with screen shots here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Power-Automate/how-to-extract-email-address-from-a-sharepoint-person-or-group/td-p/124642

    Hi @annabelh1

    Create a flow based in create item trigger for List A

    get items from the List based on filter on business columns. Join the email ids of payroll column by a seperator ;

    Now you have the users whom you need to give access.

    Now use the above action to grant access to them.
