I am trying to import an app from one environment to another, however, after importing and when I go play the app I get the follwing error:
"Sorry, we didn’t find that app."
The value for environment variable 'xyzy_sharepoint' was not found in the environment.
I have the same question (0)

Thats not really a lot to go on.

But if you created an App, in an environment with the Create Environment Variables Automatically for DataSources turn on, then you have to have a Solution, because those data sources environment variables are not part of the App, they are part of a solution that you create and add them too, then you have the app in the solution as well.

Then publish the Solution and import that so it has the environment variables, so you can then update them to point to the new environments' location.

That is a complete educated guess based on what you said, is causing your issue,

When you import the app from another environment, there may be a chance where the datasource is pointing to a location that you do not have access to.

After the import you will have to check the following:
    1. update the environment variable if it is part of the solution.
    2. update the data source if the data is pointing directly to a sharepoint site.
    3. The environment variable was not created in the same environment using the same publisher "xyzy"

What type of EV you are using in your solution? Is it SharePoint datasource? If so, then you have to provide the correct source of it while importing the solution since those connections are being used in the app.
