Ability to select, view and edit multiple records at once with unique values

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is possible but wanted to check.

A colleague has created the PowerApp below, which displays new music releases. The aim of the app is to make it easier for a user to submit quantities of the albums they wish to order. At the moment if a product title is selected then it takes them into an edit screen for that one product.

The ultimate goal would be to create something like the image below, where tick boxes would be visible against each product - with the user 'ticking' all the products they wish to view and edit via the 'view & edit' button - editing multiple products at once in the next review screen.

These quantities would be different for each release so it wouldn't be one big 'bulk' update as such.

Is it possible to create this within a PowerApp?

Let me know if you need more information and thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi @musicman101 ,

    I assume you are using a Data Table to display the information? Using that, the proposed solution can't be built. However, if you use a gallery, you can. It may even be an option to build a (partially) editable grad where users can enter the quantities directly on the sceen which is similar to the screenshots you posted.

    A good tutorial on how to build an editable grid can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI6SHGQ9ATg

    hello @musicman101 ,

    The gallery will work as well.
    One option might be to collect selected records on tic of the checkbox or delete the selection with 'RemoveIf' if unticked.

    // collect an entries details
    Collect(Varorders,{
     Article: Text(ThisItem.name),
     Amount: Value(defaultamount.Text),
     articleNo: ThisItem.No
     }
     )
    // remove an entry
    RemoveIf(Varorders,
     (articleNo = ThisItem.No)
     )

    If you then show the selected records in a gallery on a separate screen or simply toggle the visibility of an input field based on the checkbox value of 'ThisItem' inside the current gallery might depend on your preferences.
    A change on the input field for the amount would then execute a patch similar to

    Patch(Varorders, ThisItem, {Amount:Value(amount_input.Text)})

    I followed Reza's tutorial on how to do this and it works great, but will be editing the whole gallery, not merely a selection.
