In the settings of virtual agents, theres a greyed out section that says it will be allowed to upload a document of content to be used as the source for answers. I cannot find a release date for this functionality, does anyone here know when it might be available?
Yes, I have the same question.

The Power Virtual Agents team is working on this feature, but we do not have a timeline we can share of when the feature will be available. If you don't mind, can you share how you envision using this feature and why you are interested in it?-- Mike Bonincontri
Thank you for the reply. Our website(s) have limited content. Often there is much more in depth content locked in documents by various departments.By having a feature allowing content from documents to be used, we could utilize power virtual agents much more effectively than just pointing them at a website.
Thanks @winston_smyth for the feedback.
To add to that, many sites link to pdf's with the actual content describing products, meaning the website is pretty sparse. These documents would be candidates to be uploaded to the virtual agent.
We would like to use it to manage our knowledge for training purposes. Trainees could ask a question as if they were asking the instructor and ChatGPT would use the documents to answer their questions.
Thanks @MarkSalisbury1 and @winston_smyth. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.-- Mike Bonincontri
Hi Mike,
We also are desperate for this functionality, we're a utilities company in Australia and would like to use this as an additional KB source. Having to authenticate to an internal SharePoint is troublesome and defeats the citizen developer approach of this tool.
Outside of this we're really enjoying the platform, it's very user friendly.
Hi Mike,For us i see great use cases for our service departments that constantly answer questions that are in PDF's, for example HR and the employee handbook that is in PDF. Of course this is doable with your own topics, but the time creating the topics for a small IT department is hard to manage! Thanks!
Hope you are well.
Are there any further updates on the document upload functionality as we've now committed to this product but am having to use weird and wonderful workarounds for an external KB.
