Activity Entity: Open Activity Associated View

I am building a model driven app in Power Apps using Contacts/Activity entities.

If I start at a Contact (in this case the contact show as 'JC' in the first screenprint) and then go to Related Activities, using the Open Related Activities view, this view displays three Appointments...but only one of them is related to the Contact in question.

If I go looking at the View design (second screenprint) then I can't seem to find where it picks up its filter of which contact it is related to. What is the difference between 'related' and 'associated' ,and where is that logic exposed?

Hi @ghdunn ,

In your first screenshot there is a toggle for Include related. If you toggle this to No then I expect that you will see less items in your list.

The Include Related is a special functionality for Activities where is shows activities of records related to the Contact. For example, if your Contact has a child Opportunity record related to it and the Opportunity has an Activity regarding it, then that Activity for the Opportunity will appear against the Contact when Include Related = Yes.

I am sorry I overlooked replying to this, though I think we have corresponded on a different thread. But just for the record...

I have raised a ticket to explore how this works in CDS as I am really not convince it makes any sense.

1. Regarding should surely allow more than one item.
2. Related Activity which gets you to a view called 'Associated' should get you to just that...it shouldn't show you all activity as CDS seems to do.
3. The toggle then seems to work in an incorrect fashion...I don't know what 'include related' would mean. Include related from a position of what...where related were not included? What are you looking at if related is not included? Everything? In which case including anything else would not change the view. My head starts to swim....
