SetFocus on Combox Boxes in a Gallery

Is it really not possible to do something as simple as SetFocus onto a combo box?!

The dropdowns are part of a gallery and I want to go:
Combo box
Combo box
and
back to search results
repeat

I also see in the documentation that TabIndex is retired, as in the feature does nothing. This should be removed from the UI.

    Curious to know what you are trying to accomplish. Is this a filter which you are trying to configure and use the keyboard to access it?

    The vision is for accessibility one hand usage numpad and enter or tab moving around list automatically.

    I already have it auto saving and submitting a form.
