Global Filter - Model Driven App

Hello all,

I am building a model driven app for a customer dataset that has several related tables in dataverse. The app interface has different views and forms for each table to allow users to input and view content such as customer sales records, meetings we have had with the customer, related research and background about the customer and so on.

Each customer has an associated customer manager person in our organization that manages that customers account.

How can I create some sort of overall initial drop down filter or selection to narrow down the entire apps interfaces of pages with different views/forms by a single customer?

I’m wondering if there is a way to have a drop down in the header or ribbon somehow to select the customer by name and have it filter everything within the app?

    Hi @Dmschellaz ,

    You cannot have a dropdown in the ribbon headers.

    Based on selection, you can use the pre-built filtering methods on your View based on columns.

    This requires the user to select the customer each time. Is there a way for the user to select it once and use that as a parameter of some sort to filter the entire app moving forward?

    @Dmschellaz

    The model-driven app does not work the way you mentioned. If the user wants to filter or narrow down by a single customer, the user can open the record of that particular customer.

    On the customer form, the user should be able to see all the related records as a subgrid and associated records in the Related tab.
