XRMToolbox Web Resource Manager Plugin Invalid file extension

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to checkin all web resources from Dynamics CRM to Source control. And as part of this requirement we have decided to use XRMToolbox Web Resource Manager Plugin.

The problem which I am facing is with File Extension when I export web resources files to local drive. As you can see in below image, I have few JS which does not .js extension in web resource name and one has the extension. Now When I export the files to local drive I don't see the correct file extension for javascript and because of this I will face issues while editing this file from Visual studio.

Need your help and guidance on how to fix this particula issue.

Hello @bipinshan,

As per Microsoft Standard you need to create a WebResource file with their extensions
For

Javascript -- new_Demo.js
Html -- new_Demo.html

else you will face such kind of issues. Don't ask for Documentation, it's a basic behaviour of MSCRM or Dataverse

Sure, I will not ask for any documenation/link/reference. 🙄

I can't go back and change the name of the web resource. And my actual project has more than 100 web resources in my system without extension.

FYI - It was created by many developers and we can't blame them now.

Do you have any workaround to fix this issue?

Hi,

I do see setting to add Missing Extension which I updated to True but still not working.

I have also submitted issue to Web Resource Manager XRMToolbox Github page -

Hi,

This issue will be fixed in next update of Web Resource Manager plugin as per Author of this tool.
