Unexpected dependencies when deploying solutions

Hi,

I have a table called Operators which has a list of names. This table is used in multiple apps and tables that have a many to one relationship (Many [x] to one Operator).

My issue is that when want to deploy a solution that uses the operator table it wants to add other tables as dependencies to the operator table. The solution then becomes very large with many tables that are not really used. If all these extra tables are referencing the Operators table but the Operators table isn't referencing any of those tables then why the dependency?

These solutions are getting way too large and slow.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the help. I always just added al components when including tables in my solutions. That's what brought on all the other tables that were related to the Operators table! Choosing only the columns I need solved it. :)

When creating or modifying a solution, you should selectively include only the components that are necessary for your customization. This means that instead of adding entire tables or entities, you can choose specific forms, views, or fields that are directly related to your customization. This helps in keeping the solution lightweight and avoids bringing in unnecessary dependencies.

    Hi,

I would suggest you do a clean up.

That being said, you aren't showing us anything at all. Just making a statement. And then asking out opinion.

    My opinion is
    1. You are doing a poor job of solution management if you have loads of things with dependencies and you don't know it and don't clean them up
    2. You should run the dependency checker for the Table and verify what IT says its dependent on versus assuming its not actually dependent on these
    3. I would show these things to the people I am asking help from so they can help me.

That's my opinion though, gets you about 0.00000000000000000001 cents.
