Excel based app missing columns

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi, I've generated an app from an Excel sheet, and it is missing several fields. Strangely, it hasn't just used the first few fields then missed later ones, it has skipped several throughout the sheet. (eg it has missed out fields A, E, G, I, J, L, N, O.)

I've tried connecting various times after making numerous changes to the Excel spreadsheet, and it always misses out the same columns. Thanks

    Hi @Anonymous,

Please take a look at the following article when connecting to Excel data in PowerApps:

Generate an app from Excel data

Before connecting, you should format the data in a table, For more information, see Create an Excel table in a worksheet.

PowerApps don't support to connect to the SpreadSheet directly.

If you have any further questions, please post back.

    Regards,

    Michael

Thanks Michael, I have seen those pages. And yes, I should've been more specific - I have made a table from my data in the spreadsheet, and the table connects successfully with Powerapps. But in the resulting app, only 7 of the 15 columns from my spreadsheet table appear.

    Hi @Anonymous,

Take a look at the following article, some columns may be hidden by default, you could choose to unhide them from the right pane, data tab:

I am working with this issue now. What I have found is that if you go into DetailForm1 in DetailScreen1 you can edit and add fields in the properties. When you "Add field" it should show the column headings of the remaining columns in your Excel table. You can also reorder the fields in "More actions" (...)
