Running a Power Automate Flow in Mobile Apps

Hey!

I am trying to run a Flow from a Model-Driven Mobile App (Dynamics 365/Field Service) [Android] but an empty popup is shown which can only be closed. This Flow is triggered "When a record is selected".

Is this not supported or a bug?

Thanks

    Hi @Anonymous ,

I made a test on my side that created a new flow from model-driven app which is triggered when a record is selected(CDS) as you said, but I can't reproduce your issue. The flow I created can be found both in Browser and Mobile client.

When the flow had been created, it didn't show up in the model-driven app directly, I need to exit the App and re-open it to find the flow. Please be patient to wait if the pop-up shows loading.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi @v-siky-msft,

The flow was visible in the app but I wasn't able to run it? Only a white pop-up showed as below?

Could you please share more details of your flow?

    Hi @v-siky-msft

This was only a sample Flow to check it worked:

    Hi @Anonymous ,

I managed to reproduce your issue on my side, the flow running panel only displays a blank pop-up with the flow name on mobile client

It seems that flow page for inputting Rejection Reason parameter can't load successfully. Once I've removed the input parameter, the flow works properly.

In conclusion, the temporary workaround is to remove the Input Parameters (Rejection Reason) in Trigger. I will continue to investigate and debug this issue. If it is confirmed as a bug, I will submit this to Microsoft, and post back if there is any updates for this.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi @v-siky-msft,

Thank you for confirming it can be reproduced. I look forward to hearing if it's a bug or not.

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hey,

Do you have any updates on the bug / no bug question? Did you raise it to MS? Do they have an ETA for the fix?

I am having the exact same issue with the Bookable Resource Booking entity. It's also worth noting that when I use the "When a Record is Selected" trigger from this entity, the ID of the Bookable Resource Booking entity is not passed to Power Automate the way it should be. I've got a separate post open on this issue.

    Hi Tony,

I never got this to work and the project I was on took a different direction so I never came to a workaround.

    Best of luck.

Thanks for the response. FYI, I was able to come up with a decent work around. While the Bookable Resource Booking entity will not send an ID to Flow, the Work Order will. So we added a field to the form with the ID for a related Work Order. The mobile user can tap the ID, open the Work Order, and initiate the Flow from there. This was sufficient for our scenario.
