Is there a way to make a field required for main form but not quick create? I want to be able to have a field in tasks called "duration" that isnt required. We may not know how long the task will take here. But by time the task is completed, the duration needs to have a value. Any ideas?
Hi @ChannelDevMike ,
The Required property in the Data Card is separate from (and in addition to) any underlying requirement at data source level. It can also be conditional. You can then test for FormName.Valid before saving.

Can you explain this a little more please? Not sure I understand. Where would I put FormName.Valid to test?
@ChannelDevMike ,
Before saving (example only)
If( YourFormName.Valid, SubmitForm(YourFormName), Notify("YOu have compulsory fields", Error) )
Are you using Model-Driven App?
Yes
Then I will step out - I am Canvas only.
You can achieve this by 2 ways,
1. Business Rule on Main form to make field required (If this doesn't work then go to 2nd method since that works)
2. Using JavaScript to keep required on Main form and not on Quick create.
Hope this helps
