Does anyone know a way to hide most of the command bar options in model-driven apps?

Yes you can hide using JS in ribbon work bench or use can use Power Fx.

Hi LA-30040116-0,

Try hiding it using ribbon work bench tool. Follow below steps:

Create a solution with just entity. No metadata

Import this solution in ribbonworkbench

Select ribbon

Select button, right click and Hide

Publish

As you have found out, using the Edit Command Bar inside the App doesn't work for most existing/standard buttons - as per the post by Ekta before mine use Ribbon Workbench by Develop1 there is also a version of the same in XrmToolBox (it has been used for many years to add & hide/show ribbon/command bar buttons)

It seemed to be working well initially, but after I closed and reopened the Ribbon Workbench in XrmToolBox, I started receiving the following error: "For performance reasons, this solution cannot be loaded."

Usually the message is due to either slow loading, you have too many tables in the solution, or the tables have additional included items (like forms, columns etc, you just want the table and none of its other items) in the solution.

My solution only has one table with a single column and row.

Solution used for ribbonworkbench should only have entity. No other thing. After ribbon customization and publish, you can add more components.

As per Ekta, only the Table, no other items (no columns, no forms,... nothing but the Tables up to a max of 5 tables).

Note: the solution you use for editing the ribbon/command bar will usually not be the solution you use to work in for other updates or to deploy (just purely to edit the ribbon/command bar).
