I builded a model driven app. One of my tables is "Intakes". It should be possible to open an Intake record and add some notes. I created a new advanced table and select "Activity" as type. In the mainform of table "Intakes", I added the timline component. I see some warning like "No records can be displayed since this entitiy is not enabled for Notes, Activities or Posts". How to make it work?

To fix this, follow the following steps:
    1. Open Power Apps --> Tables --> Intakes
    2. Go to Table Properties
    3. Enable the checkbox at the bottom named "Enable attachments/Notes" and activities.
    4. Save the table and click on publish all customizations.
    5. Refresh the model-driven app.

The timeline control only works if the table supports at least one of these Activities, Notes(attachment).

This should work. If not, just tag me in a message, and I’ll respond.

    Hope this helps 🧑‍💻

It works as you tell me, but I created also a new IntakeComment table of type "Activity". How to implement the timeline to a dedicated table? I would like to see the notes from a specific IntakeBoardRequest record.

Yes, that is also possible. But the standard Timeline control in Dataverse only works with:

    • Notes (Annotation)
    • Activities (Task, Email, Phone Call, etc.)

Your custom table IntakeComment will not automatically appear in the native Timeline, even if you selected “Activity” during creation.

To implement this properly, I would recommend:

    1. Create a 1:N relationship:  IntakeBoardRequest (1) --> (N) IntakeComment
    2. Add a Lookup column in IntakeCommentIntakeBoardRequestId
    3. On the IntakeBoardRequest main form:
    • remove the native Timeline control
    • add a Subgrid instead
    • select table: IntakeComment
    • filter by:  Related Records only

This way, when opening a specific IntakeBoardRequest record, the subgrid automatically shows only the related comments/activities.

The native Timeline control unfortunately cannot display arbitrary custom tables directly.

    Hope this helps 🧑‍💻
