Model-driven App Access

Good morning

I have a model-driven app that I have added to a tab in a Teams group.

I have four users in the same security group. Their access levels are identical.

Me and two of the users can use the app in Teams without any issue.

One user gets this error message: "The app URL wasn't found or you need permissions to open it. Please check the URL and try again, or contact your system administrator".

The other user gets this error message: An error has occurred: App with guid "xxx... could not be found.

I don't know where to look for a solution anymore. I spent an entire day checking and rechecking everything.

What am I missing?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello @hildasteyn,

Are you referring to an Office 365 or Azure AD Security Group?

Have you configured and assigned security roles to the individual users, or to the security group (via a Dataverse team)?

Security roles govern access to data in Dataverse, and model-driven apps can also be shared with security roles.

If you have not done this yet, could you please try to share the model-driven app with your security group by assigning one or more security roles to your group:

    1. Navigate to your app on make.powerapps.com
    2. Click on the ellipsis (...) and select Share
    3. In the search bar under "People", select your security group
    4. Select one or more relevant security roles
    5. Click share
    6. Ask the users to try again

You can find an in-depth explanation of this process here.

    Hi @hildasteyn,

Just ot supplement on the previous post, it's not because the model-driven app was added as tab to teams that automatically security will be controlled by the teams and channel group. Adding a tab is effectively just adding a "shortcut" to the app. As @joe_hannes_col, each user accessing the app needs a security role assigned which is most likely the issue with the other user. In the Admin Center (aka.ms/ppac), navigate to the environment, pick users on the right and compare the role between yourself and the other that doesn't have access.
EricRegnier_0-1675633288552.pngIf you can't find the ther user, he/she is missing a license or is not part of the security group assigned to the environment:

    Hope this helps!

This was just a licensing issue. The trial licenses had expired. All of my searching and stressing for nothing.
