Create Power apps from template and change data source connector to Dataverse

Hi there,

 

I've created a "My expenses" app from the existing template but when trying to add Dataverse data source connection, I can only see the dataverse legacy connector (in grey).

 

I can only see the new Microsoft Dataverse connector if I create an app from scratch (in green).

 

So I wonder, am I missing something here or this is done on purpose by Microsoft so we can't reuse the templates with different data sources?
