Entity Items are not properly deleted when deleting Solution

I have a managed solution which contains a model-driven app and 2 Entities: "Business Opportunity" and "Idea". "Idea" has a lookup field "Related Business Opportunity" where "Business Opportunity" is specified as Related Entity. I create couple items in Business Opportunities. Then I can select one of these items in an Idea. Now I delete Solution and import in again. The items which I created are no longer displayed when I navigate to Entities -> Business Opportunity -> Data. I open the App, navigate to Business Opportunities. The items are absent. Then I navigate to Ideas, create new, and click Related Business Opportunity. The items are displayed in the drop down list and I can select one of these nonexistent items. I get the following error on attempt to save Idea which is referencing nonexistent Business Opportunity: "Record Is Unavailable. The requested record was not found or you do not have sufficient permissions to view it."

How can I cleanup those nonexistent items?

    Hi @Anonymous

The items are gone, but your recent history is being cached. I tried to recreate the issue but was unable to. Have you tried clearing your cache or running the app in another browser?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I agree with @SeanHenderson 's thought almost. Although the Items have been removed from your CDS Entities, but previous selection history has been cache within the LookUp field in your Model-Driven Entity form.

As an fixed solution, please consider edit your Entity form, remove the LookUp field, save and publish your Entity form. And then, edit your Entity form, add the LookUp field, save and re-publish your Entity form. After that, open your Model-Driven app again, check if the issue is solved.

Note: Currently, there is no direct way to clear the previous selection history of a LookUp field.

    Best regards,

    Hello SKH19,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the issue is reproducible when I run the App from a new machine in a browser where the App has never been launched before.

    Hello Kris Dai,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately your workaround did not help. Here are the steps for reproduce the issue:

    1. Import attached solution.
    2. Run "Ideas Inbox" app.
    3. Add several items to "Business Opportunities"
    4. Delete Solution.
    5. Import Solution once again.
    6. Run "Ideas Inbox" app.
    7. Navigate to "Ideas", create new and click "Related Business Opportunity" field.

Result: the items which were created in "Business Opportunities" are listed in "Recent Business Opportunities" dropdown although they do not exist in "Business Opportunities" entity any longer.

I think the issue could be confirmed as a bug in Powerapps.

Have you checked the "Field Properties" settings for the lookup field? Check out this thread which shows how to clear the "recent" list displayed in the lookup field.
