Model Driven App View - Columns Intermittently Squashed to Half Screen Width (screenshot)

Hi there,

My Model Driven Apps default view occasionally only occupies half the screen real estate. Happens about 1/4 of the time. Refresh of page usually resolves.. Screenshot demonstrates best.

App has been working for 8 months without issue until now. No changes were made to cause this, it started to occur over the last few weeks and appears to be happening more and more frequently..

I am using icons in the view as per the following guide; Add custom icons to a list view in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) | Microsoft Docs

Edge and Chrome both affected:

Edge Version 104.0.1293.70 (Official build) (64-bit)
Chrome
Version 105.0.5195.54 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 Enterprise Version 21H2 / OS build 19044.1826

Can anyone suggest any troubleshooting i might try?

Quick update, I attempted to change column widths to see if that might have an impact. On the classic view editor I get error "an error has occurred. please return to the home page and try again"

    MicrosoftAdmin_0-1662471109016.png

I then clicked the option to edit in the "Try New Experience" which allows me to modify the column width fine.

Should I concerned about the error msg in the classic view in question?

Next troubleshooting will be to recreate a new view from scratch to replicate the old and see if/when i encounter issues...

    Hi @MicrosoftAdmin ,

It's ok if it's working as expected using the new designer.

New default view created and live. Time will now tell.

The new view created from scratch is also susceptible to the same characteristic 🤨

Still and issue, still occurring with some regularity. Any ideas welcome.

    Thanks,

    A new characteristic has developed.

When the list is showing full width and you click on any inactive white space on the list, the column widths reduce. This happens 100% of the time. Resizing the window brings it back to full width 100% of the time.

    Very strange. Any thoughts welcome.

Quick update for anyone who experiences these symptoms, this is a known quirk with the 'new experience' in the view of model driven apps.

There are two fixes on offer to help improve the situation until MS finds a permanent global fix:

    1. add one of the following strings to the end of your power apps URL:

    &flags=FCB.PcfGridReduceRefresh=false

    -OR-

    &flags=FCB.PcfGridReduceRefresh=true

    2. Turn off the new experience:

    1. Open https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/
    2. Select environment
    3. Go to 'Settings'
    4. Click on 'Product' > 'Features'
    5. Disable 'Enable the modern read-only grid experience'
    6. Save.
