Get Items filter query getting the month of the date column

Im trying to get my head around the get items action filter query,

what I want to get is the month of the date column of my sharepoint named DateofReport, however I cant seem to get what I want

My purpose is so that the flow wouldn't take so long and will only get items that are within the month. This flow runs once everyday.

What I've tried is

I have a varaible with this formula:

formatDateTime(utcNow(), 'MM')

and in the filter query of the get items I have this formula. Outputs refer to the formula above.

formatDateTime(item()?['DateofReport'],'MM')

OData in SharePoint's "Get items" does not support Power Automate expressions like formatDateTime.

It can only use SharePoint columns with basic operations. e.g. Created ge 2025-04-01T00:00:00Z

Retrieve all items first then use a Filter array action

If you want to increase the speed of the flow consider adding yearmonth as an index in the SharePoint list.

Change your program to write a YearMonth column.

In your flow filter by yearmonth extracted from the current date and the flow should retrieve the data quicker.

I tried the filter array but whenever I use this it iterates between two "apply to each" which is kind of odd
