unable to find user when trying to add to security role.

Hi all,

In the past I have been able to add a user to a security role for a given environment without them being in a security group (or without a security group assigned to the Environment).

In the last few days when I search for some users there are no results.

I have confirmed the users have the appropriate Power Apps license.

Odd thing is, one of the users exists in security roles in another environment. Their licensing has not changed.

I can still search for some other users. and I tried full email address, username, first name, last name.

Any ideas?

Thanks again, Just wanted to confirm I would have the Environment setup with no security groups so it is open to all, and manage said permissions through the teams I create?

You can create the teams within dataverse for devs and users who wanted to share the groups.

Each team can be associated with Azure AD group or you can add/remove users from the Teams in dataverse.

Team can have a specific security role and its applied to all users within the Team.

Thank you, that worked, however, What if I need the permissions for a security group applied to devs with access to the environment, but want other users to be able to view shared apps (without the security group permissions)?

Is your environment restricted to a AD group (Security Group)? This might have been done when creating the environment.

Go to admin center and edit the environment to check if a security group is associated to your environment. If yes, change the setting to open access then try to add the user.
