Hello,

I want to share a model driven app with "Mail Enabled Security group" , however I keep seeing following error eventhough email ID is correct

appsecurity.png

Is it so that app can not be shared with "Mail Enabled Security group" of AAD?

Note: I have also tried searching with group name, however the same error.

Any clue?

Thanks,

    Hi @dave8 ,

I do not think the "Mail Enabled Security Group" need to be assigned with a PowerApps license. The  "Mail Enabled Security Group" is just used to manage access rights for licensed CDS Users.

Currently, I could not reproduce your issue on my side. Please consider submit an assisted support ticket through the following link:

Re: Unable to share model driven apps with mail enabled security group

    Hi @v-xida-msft

Yes, I have already created team group which is associated with "Mail Enabled Security Group" with unique custom security role, however, that's a part of CDS data which seems to be working.

However while sharing an app with "Mail Enabled Security Group" doesnt seems to be working at all, because for me it's not appearing in people list - I am not sure whether that's happening because powerapps license is not assigned to  "Mail Enabled Security Group" in AAD - What do you think?

    Thanks and Regards,

Re: Unable to share model driven apps with mail enabled security group

    Hi @dave8 ,

For individual user or Office 365 Group, you could consider find it through the Search Box. But for "Mail Enabled Security Group", I afraid that the Search Box could not achieve your needs.

Have you created a corresponding Team Group for your "Mail Enabled Security Group"? Have you assigned proper Security Role to Team Group related to your "Mail Enabled Security Group"?

Please make sure you have created a corresponding Team Group for your "Mail Enabled Security Group" in your CDS Environment, and you have assigned proper Security Role to Team Group related to your "Mail Enabled Security Group".

Please check the following article for more details:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-teams#about-group-teams

After that, try the Sharing operation again, then check if the "Mail Enabled Security Group" could be shown up under the "Current" list in your Sharing panel.

If the issue still exists, please consider submit an assisted support ticket through the following link:

Re: Unable to share model driven apps with mail enabled security group

    Hi,

There are more than 2K+ users, moreover, I do not see many under "Current" list, while sharing an app.Similarly, even if I scroll down, I do not see the mail enabled security group, I am not sure whether that's happening because that group has no PowerApps license assigned? On the other hand, I assume this should not be the case.

In nutshell, I am still unable to find that group in search box or the list, even if I scroll down and in that list I do not see all users like 2K+

Still figuring out the issue, any clue?

    Thanks,

Re: Unable to share model driven apps with mail enabled security group

    Hi @dave8 ,

Do you want to share your Model-Driven app to a Security Group in your AAD?

Yeah, based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test, and the issue is confirmed on my side. When you search "Mail Enabled Security group" through email address within the Share panel, it could not find the specific "Mail Enabled Security group", even though, I have set it up in my AAD.

But when I scroll down scrollbar, I could find my "Mail Enabled Security group" under the "Current" section:

I think this issue is related to the search functionality in Sharing panel of Model-Driven app. You could scroll down the scrollbar within the Sharing panel, and then check if you could find your "Mail Enabled Security group" there.

    Best regards,
