On-premise data gateway on default environment

Hello,

I was trying to install an on-premise data gateway in my default environment. I have several environments including a community plan environment for individual use.

According to MS' official docs, a data gateway can only be installed in a default environment (which is not ideal). However, in my case, the gateway was installed in my env for individual use. I could not get the gateway to install in my default environment.

Has anyone seen this before? This looks like a bug to me... .

Thanks. I had already seen this video.

My issue is that you dont get to choose which power platform environment your data gateway is created on (since, according to the MS docs, it can only be created on your default environment). For some reason, for me, it gets created on my environment for individual use (the free, community plan environment).

Hi @Guillaume_G ,

Three points that you need to pay attention to about gateway:

1)It's not installing gateway in one environment. It's using gateway in one environment.

You need to install gateway in your computer.

Then in one powerapps environment, create connection with on-promises data source by using gateway.

2)For now, you could only use gateway in default environment.

Community plan environment is not supported.

3)You need to have powerappps standalone plan(per app plan/per user plan) to use gateway.

Other licenses do not support this feather.

What's more, you do not need to worry about the permission of your gateway. Even if you create connection by using gateway in the default environment, that does not mean all the users in the talent could use this gateway. You need to share your gateway to make others have the permission on this gateway.

I have set the on-prim data gateway and it retrieves data in Microsoft Flow but not in powerapps
