Hi all,

Just out of curiosity, has anyone created a transportation app? If so, how was your design, did you use flow?

Care to share any ideas/suggestions? i have a project coming up for a transportation app.

Thanks

    Hi @_sourcecod3_

Can you give any more details as to what your requirements are? @kbilakanti has an app here that might be of interest to you.

@cds Something like that. So we have employees that want to work OT, but sometimes they already have enough staff for a specific location. Our employer is providing the opportunity to be able to take those employees to other locations so they can work there. So the employee would submit a request using PowerApps. They'll enter the request date, the 'from' and 'to' locations and if a round trip is necessary. The transport has limited seats available per trip between locations. i.e:

    Locations w/ pick up times:

    A - 7:30am

    B - 8:00am

    C - 8:30am

    D - 9:00am

    F -  9:30am

The transport has this route, it has to go through each of these location one at a time. There's no hoping around. So if i need to request to be picked up at location A and dropped off at location D, I need a workflow to block a 'seat' for the locations in-between.

    Does that make sense?

@timl  I've looked at this and the design looks good. I think I'm mostly stuck on how to figure out the flow to block seats when a request is submitted. I'll upload my design once I get the app looking more like an app. Right now i'm working on the mechanics of the functionality.

Yeah, sounds like an epic project!

    At a base level,

I'd set the framework like this:

    List:Employees
    List:Locations
    List:Overtime

You'll need to set the columns up in each of these lists according to your demands. (i.e. employee.homelocation, location.pickuplocation, overtime.pointA && overtime.pointB)

Hopefully this will get you started? if you haven't already..

I'm pretty accessible if you need help, lookin forward to building this bad boy.
