We had to deploy a custom canvas for the welcome message (Make your Power Virtual Agents bot start the conversation using a custom canvas | Microsoft Power Virtual Agents) but as mentioned below it's impacting our analytics:
Information: Having the bot start the conversation will show up in your analytics and increase your session count. If the user of your bot doesn’t engage with the bot (for example, they load the page but don’t ask the bot anything), the session will be marked as an unengaged session. This might impact your analytics.
Does anyone know when/if there are plans to make the welcome message an out-of-the-box solution, so it doesn't impact the analytics? At the moment we have to do a lot of manual reporting to get correct data.

We have features in our backlog that would give you more control over analytics sessions, but nothing planned in the near term.
I suggest either entering your request in the Power Virtual Agents Ideas forum which will allow community members to up vote the suggestion and/or submit an idea at https://aka.ms/PVAFeatureRequest. Both of these allow the PVA team to gage customer interest and aide us in prioritizing customer asks.
