Duplicate Showing Up With Distinct

Hello,

I have a combo-box that has a SharePoint list for its data source.  There's around 600 rows in it for every person working at my company. The combo-box filters the people by departments and allows multiselecting. I am using this formula for the possible choices in the combo-box:

 Sort(Distinct(DataSource, 'Department '.Value), Result)

There are 19 departments and that formula is showing me 21 inside the combo-box. All the departments are showing up, but there are two department that have a duplicate. I was wondering how to fix this.

Thank you.

    @Anonymous : What's the column type in SharePoint when you are using 'Department' column?

    @Anonymous see if you can remove the .value and try like below..
    Sort(Distinct(DataSource, 'Department'), Result)

    I removed it and it is still doing the same thing

    @Anonymous can you double check the DataSource column and do FilterBy on the same column in SharePoint list? you might be able to see if there are duplicates in there (may be because of spelling or upper/lower case)..

    @Anonymous

    Wrap it in Trim(). Probably a space in there.

    Sort(Distinct(Trim(DataSource, 'Department')), Result

    I just noticed this, but there is a upper/lowercase issue. I cannot make edits to the SharePoint it belongs to my supervisor. But for example there's a department named Experimenttest but the other duplicate would be ExperimentTest. Is there a way to fix this to accept both variations?

    When I click on either one all of the correct people show up though I just want to get rid of the duplicate.

    @Anonymous if you don't have an issue with uppercase/lowercase, then you try like this

    Sort(Distinct(Leaderboard,Upper(Title)),Result) for everything uppercase.. for lowercase, use Lower function instead of Upper..
    .. and if you want proper case... then you can use 'Proper' function..

    @Anonymous

    The best solution would be to fix your data and then limit how your users enter the values in the future.
